Product Enhancements Optimize Existing Network Intrusion Detection and Prevention Environments

Attack Mitigator IPS Enhancements Leverage Intelligence of SEMs

Among the enhancements to Top Layer’s Attack Mitigator IPS is the addition of standards-based advanced event logging capabilities that enable customers to better identify and correlate attack events through seamless integration with many security event management applications. Top Layer’s Attack Mitigator IPS is a family of high performance, ASIC-based intrusion prevention solutions with precision blocking and control against network attacks. Upgrades to the product suite include:

Ø Standards-based Event Logging: Enables seamless integration with security event management products for improved security analysis and more accurate reporting of suspicious and malicious network traffic

Ø TCP Mid Flow Enhancements: Enhanced protection against HTTP Worms, and other HTTP attacks

Ø UDP Flow Management: Enhanced flow management for UDP and ICMP traffic allows for more accurate detection and blocking, while reserving internal resources for maximum protection of TCP sessions

IDS Balancer Enhancements Enable IDS Products to Reach their Coverage Potential

Upgrades to Top Layer’s IDS Balancer help optimize existing IDS technology investments by promoting better traffic flow and analysis between IDS sensors, thus ensuring each IDS sensor is utilized to its fullest potential. Many IDS offerings now tout gigabit speeds but can not accurately do detection at those levels x so intrusions are missed or the speeds of the network are significantly impacted. To improve configurability and manageability of the IDS Balancer, Top Layer has delivered the following upgrades:

Ø Monitor Groups: Weighted Round Robin capabilities enable the IDS Balancer to better manage traffic flow to ensure IDS sensors are utilized to their potential and full intrusion detection coverage is achieved regardless of individual IDS capacities

Ø Management and Administration Upgrades: multiple administration designations and distributed management abilities deliver better control and improved remote management of IDS

Ø Interface Security: Added controls to various user interfaces provide improved security regardless of management method
