IDS Balancer Certified ca smart with Computer Associates’ eTrust Network Forensics

Top Layer Networks, Inc., a provider of globally proven intrusion prevention solutions, today announced that its IDS Balancer has been certified ca smart with eTrust Network Forensics from Computer Associates International, Inc. (NYSE: CA). The combined solution enables enterprises to effectively monitor and capture Gigabit Ethernet network traffic and use advanced forensics analysis to identify instances of network exploits, data theft and policy violations.

CA, a lead contributor to the Network Management and Security Initiative (NMSI) used by Microsoft for its annual Tech-Ed conference, chose Top Layer’s IDS Balancer to serve load balancing functions that helped NMSI deliver high network availability and protection from virus outbreaks, unauthorized access, denial-of-service attacks and wireless exploits at the event.

The Top Layer IDS Balancer has multiple configuration options, enabling the user to break down the Gigabit Ethernet traffic and assign it to specific monitoring ports in different ways, such as by protocol or session type. Together with CA’s eTrust Network Forensics, customers can monitor and capture Gigabit Ethernet traffic from backbone or aggregate links x with no software integration required x to ensure corporate network activity is understood and properly analyzed.
