Arkansas Department of Information Systems Successfully Implements Top Layer's IDS Balancer and 8e6's R2000 Web Filter To Protect More than 65,000 Workstations Regardless of Internet Traffic Volume

Under the terms of the agreement, 8e6 will immediately offer Top Layer's IDS Balancer with its R2000 Web filtering appliance to provide the highest performance Web filtering available today, meeting the demands of the busiest networks with an architecture that does not impact network performance. The combined solution has already been successfully implemented within the Arkansas Department of Information Systems (DIS) to protect more than 65,000 Internet-enabled workstations across its K-12 public schools.

Arkansas DIS provides Internet service for all of Arkansas's K-12 schools, libraries, higher education institutions and state agencies. After an extensive evaluation of potential filtering technologies, Arkansas DIS selected 8e6's R2000 Enterprise Edition Web Filtering Server for more than 65,000 Internet-enabled workstations throughout the state of Arkansas. It was quickly realized that they had more traffic than a single server could handle.
