Top Layer Announces New Asia Pacific Vice President; Expansion of Singapore-based Asia Pacific Operations

Appointment of Michael Ang signals Top Layer's aggressive growth plans in the region in keeping with its business strategy

Singapore - October 8, 2002 - Top Layer Networks, Inc., a leading provider of globally proven intrusion prevention solutions, today announced the appointment of Michael Ang as Vice President of Asia Pacific region. Using Singapore as the launching pad to the Asia Pacific region, Ang will build a profit-driven regional sales and marketing operation over the next five years. Working closely with a network of channel partners and country managers in Australia and New Zealand, ASEAN and the Indian Sub Continent, Greater China and South Korea, Ang's mandate is to increase the company's market share and revenue.

The initial focus will be on the augmentation of customer support infrastructure, engagement of key sales and technical personnel and the development of comprehensive alliance partner programmes. These programs will be used to support the growing number of system integrators, security consultants and service companies that are selling and supporting Top Layer in Asia.

Ang brings to Top Layer over 20 years of experience in both regional and global IT sales and management. His previous appointments at start-ups like Proteon and Xylan Asia Pacific, and large companies like ICL, EDS and Fujitsu, have earned him sound knowledge and an understanding of the intricacies of building an effective channel model and successful sales teams in Asia."
